Nike Tennis Shoes became a household name in the late 1970's when John McEnroe surged in popularity with both his skill and on-court antics. When Nike released the Oscillate series with Pete Sampras, it really established Nike's brand as an on-court tennis shoe. Of course Roger Federer's use of and input into the Air Zoom Vapor Series as well as Nadal using the Air Zoom Cage has propelled Nike to be the leading brand in Men's Tennis Shoes.
