  • Yes!

We have 2 demo services available at our Heidelberg West store:

    Instore demo service

You can visit our in store hitting area and have a hit with any of our available demo racquets.

A speed radar is also fitted in our hitting area for live feedback on racquet power performance!

    Demo program service

You can visit our store to borrow up to 2 racquets for 2 days.

We charge a small fee of $5 per racquet, so if you borrow 2 racquets for 2 days, the cost will be $10.

If you then decide to buy a racquet within 30 days, we will give you the paid amount discount off the racquet! To claim this discount, please keep your demo receipt.

We require a credit card and licence to use our demo program.

We recommend you call us on the morning you are hoping to demo racquets to make sure they are available. We are unfortunately not able to hold racquets more than a few hours.

Note: Our demos are currently only available in 4 3/8.

  • We do ship to New Zealand, however, we do have some limitations placed on us by certain brands.

We have a filter on the left hand side of the website, International Availability, that will show you what products can be shipped to your area.

Please let us know if there is something else you are interested in and we will let you know if we can help.

Please note taxes and duties may be charged for international orders.

Tennis Warehouse Australia does not accept responsibility for another country’s customs, import duties, taxes and or any other relevant fees. If your order does require payment for one or more of these charges, you will have to make payment to the relevant authority in your country before they will release your package through customs so that it can continue being delivered.

Any delays to the advised shipping timeline incurred from this process are the burden of the purchaser and not Tennis Warehouse Australia.

If you refuse the charges, your order will be returned to us. We will refund you the total of your order minus any shipping fees and any charges incurred from the return process by the carrier.

For customers in New Zealand, you can create an estimate of what these charges may be, here.

  • Yes we do. We can restring your tennis, squash an badminton racquets in store on our Spinfire Furnace stringing machines.

We charge $29.00 for labour (tennis and squash) and you can either provide your own string or purchase string from us.

Most people drop their racquet(s) off in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. If you have multiple racquets that need a restring, or if we are busy, it might not be possible to receive a same day service, please call our sales team to check.

If you would like a restring on the spot we can arrange this but you must call on the day and book it in with our stringing staff.

We save your information on file and can provide advice on strings & tension to help you get the best performance out of your racquet.

  • The correct grip size makes a huge difference in how a racquet performs. The average size for a male is a 4-3/8 and the average for a female is a 4-1/4. If you feel you have bigger hands than the average, then you should select one grip size larger. If you are unsure, choose the smaller size. You can always make a grip bigger but you can't easily make it smaller! To make a grip bigger you can simply add an overgrip (this increases the grip size 1/16 or half a grip size). You can also get your local pro shop to add a "heat shrink sleeve" or a Lorow SiZ-UP which increases the grip by 1, 2, 3 or 4 sizes.

If you're not sure of your grip size, here's a simple way to measure:

Holding an eastern forehand grip (the palm is placed against the same bevel as the string face), you should be able to fit the index finger of your non-hitting hand in the space between your fingers and your palm.

    Determining your grip size

If there isn't enough room for your index finger, the grip is too small. If there is space between your fingers and palm, the grip is too big.

A grip that is too small requires more muscle strength to keep the racquet from twisting in your hand. Prolonged use of a grip that's too small can contribute to tennis elbow problems. A grip that's too large inhibits wrist snap on serves, makes changing grips more difficult and also requires more muscle strength. Prolonged use of a grip that's too big can also contribute to tennis elbow problems.

  • If you are in a remote location where you have no access to a restringing shop (without having to drive 3 hours), why don't you save your time and petrol money by mailing your racquet to us. We'll string it and mail it back. You will need to pay postage both ways (usually between $10 - $20 each way) but how much is your time and petrol worth? Once you've done this once, keep the box we send back to you for future restringing! To help subsidise your mailing costs, we offer a 10% discount on the string job, if the racquet is mailed to us.

Email us at [email protected] and we will send you a form to fill out to start the process.
